The emphasis for the Armadale Redevelopment Scheme was to increase the attractiveness and the convenience of the precinct to the community and general public and raise the centre’s safety standards. The addition of extra amenities, tourist orientated and cultural facilities will attract more traffic flow through the centre, providing more support to local businesses in the area.

Armadale Shopping Centre Redevelopment

30th December 2013
A complete redevelopment and expansion of the existing Armadale shopping Centre was proposed to increase the floor space from approximately 8000m2 to 16000m2.
We were responsible for the structural concept, detailed design, documentation and construction support for the original extension that took place a few years ago. This enlargement incorporated an additional fifty-eight speciality stores, an eight-screen cinema and a new “Furniture Bazaar” showroom, undercroft parking and new cinemas. We were also responsible for the subsequent design of the cinema expansion in 2012.
Tying the designs into an existing building without disrupting the centres everyday operations during construction was a challenge that our engineers drew on their knowledge and experience to overcome. We provided strong communication and teamwork alongside thorough planning and risk management that allowed a smooth and quick service delivery.
