Structerre Energy worked closely with Guy Grant of Montague Grant Architects to ensure the unique heritage listed building met the necessary energy efficiency requirements for an aged care residence. Heritage elements of the building and the inclusion of new additional glazing made for a complex and interesting project, which required innovative solutions to ensure compliance was achieved without compromising the character of the building.
The painstaking restoration has taken five years and, wherever possible, the heritage features of the original building have been retained or recreated.
The result is a stunning blend of old and new which offers modern, energy efficient amenities in a truly unique heritage setting.
