The Medina Palace, situated in the heart of Perth, is an impressive sixteen-storey hotel and residential apartment complex.

Collaborating with the precast contractor, the innovative use of curved precast concrete façade panels has allowed for an architectural aspiration to be achieved, and provided a structural element capable of resisting both the vertical and lateral loads on the building.

Design challenges were presented, as it was required to retain the existing heritage façade on the site. Duplication of these elements using contemporary precast concrete components and connecting the new building into them, were carried out to overcome this problem.
